Tech house collectors may well be aware of this multi-artist missive. It originally appeared in record stores 26 years ago as the debut release from now cult UK imprint U-Freqs and has in recent years become a sought-after item amongst a new generation of DJs. Listening again a quarter of a century on, it's easy to see why. Pig Hair's 'Ying Tong' is a lovably ludicrous fusion of jaunty, bouncy Balkan turbo-folk loops, warped electronics and funky tech-house beats, while Rae Bonanza's 'Gwaan Piggy' is an odd and mind-melting ambient interlude based around demonic squeals, twanging banjo and atmospheric field recordings. Le Grande Boofont takes over on the flip, delivering two more chunks of oddball tech-house funk - the Indian vocal-sampling weight of 'G-String Underbeard' and the more slamming, techno-influenced 'G-String Overbeard'.
