Hailing from London, Cam Harrop and Redshift share honours on Kooky Ken's inaugural release, and you'd struggle to imagine a more assured way of setting the label's stall out. Harrop takes first dibs on 'Let It Move' weaving squelchy machine chatter around taut, stripped-back drums before 'Trip' sinks into murkier terrain with rolling low-end and a deliciously after-hours air. Redshift returns serve on the flip, 'Cosmique' loosening the mood as it unfurls a gossamer-light yet supple melody, before 'Holzhammer' folds its teasing 'into the night' vocal into a supple minimal framework. A tidy debut, certainly one that leaves you curious for what's next.
