For the latest missive on his must-check Physical Education imprint, Spanish producer Baldo takes us back to 2002 and a cult classic from turn-of-the-millennium tech-house producer Len Lewis. On its initial release, it marked the first time Lewis had released on a label other than London's Swag Records, one of the imprints regularly credited with helping define the UK tech-house sound in the late 1990s. It remains a classic of its type, with title track 'Joy' (track one) - a lightly Jaydee inspired slab of deep tech-house funkiness rich in Clavinet licks, organ stabs, heady vocals and deep, subby bass - being joined by two takes on 'Skip Up'. There's Lewis's own version (track 2, a deep, spaced out and glitchy purist tech-house delight) and raw, spacey, breakbeat-driven take from Louis Sypher.
