Whet your spindles for freshly compacted wax, as longtime London head Haris rolls out the first transmission on new label Night Tides with 'You & I'. Just know that if ever you find yourself growing tired of deep house - thinking its most recent editions too formulaic for the sound to survive - check back to this one (or anything in the Haris discography for that matter) and breathe a sigh of relief, because this is serious chowder. Haris' music, a lesser-spotted clutch of the late 90s and early 2000s Fabric orbit, is a case of designer depth: perfectly tailed-off vocal delays, and sample choices that feel more lived-in and loved-in, than ends-to-means. And somehow, the dub mix manages an even greater deepening.
