Austrian outlet Rhythm Trax has asked long-serving London producer Grant Dell (sometimes known as Chicago Transit Authority) to dig deep into his archives and present an EP of previously unheard nuggets. Given his track record - think releases on the likes of Loaded, Repeat, Detour, Mother Tongue, Gems and Rhythm By Nature - it's little surprise to find that the material he's unearthed is rather good. Check first 'Far Away', a blend of locked-in deep house, formative tech-house and electro tropes, before admiring the organ bass-propelled early British tech-house psychedelia of Simple Effect'. 'The Drive' is denser, weightier and more bass-heavy - intoxicating tech-house funk straight from the top drawer - while 'Midnight Moves' sees Dell make merry with elastic acid bass, intergalactic motifs and rolling deep house drums.
