DJ Assassin is the very definition of a UK scene veteran - he's been DJing and producing under that name since 1984. The London-based producer is perhaps best known for 1995's 'Jazz Journey' but it's 1998's 'A Face Amongst The Crowd' EP that's getting the reissue treatment here, opening with the sparse deep house groove of the title track, with its haunting male vocal. That's followed first by the Mongoloids-esque squelch of the quirkily titled 'Jammin Marvellous Obliviously Obvious', then by the Intellidread Mix of 'A Face...', which opts for even sparser drums and one hell of a bottom-end rumble in the mid-section. As for closer 'Beats For Ya Feet'... well, there's a bit of a clue in the title there, isn't there?
