Deep, bubbling house from Ireland’s Derek Carr on his own imprint, Trident Recordings. Quietly crafting tracks out in Westmeath, Carr’s tracks sound like they could be easily mistaken for a twenty year old dusty house record out of Detroit or Chicago. There’s a warm, analogue charm threaded through both tracks, which both live comfortably in pure, golden-age deep house territory. A-side ‘Crossroads’ centres around uplifting liquid pads and soft vocoder stabs and wouldn’t sound out of place at any time of day at Berlin’s Heidegluhen. On the B, ‘Shining Through’ is a more clean, dynamic concoction of deep dancefloor grooves.
